The air surrounding us always contains a certain amount of moisture. When air saturated with water meets a surface that has a lower temperature than the air itself, water droplets settle on it. People, animals, agricultural products such as straw, grain or production processes that produce water vapour add additional water to the air and can further intensify the above effect. With proper condensation protection, it is therefore important that the amount of condensation that occurs can be absorbed and then released back into the air by appropriately ventilating the premises. Many of our profiled sheets are therefore available with either O-METALL^® Aqua-Therm^® anti-condensation fleece or O-METALL^® Aqua-Therm^® anti-condensation granulate.

ANTI-CONDENSATION FLEECE

O-METALL^® Aqua-Therm^® Anti-condensation fleece

O-METALL^® Aqua-Therm^® anti-condensation fleece consists of a braided polyester fleece which is attached to the underside of the trapezoidal profiles. It can store temporary condensation water and thus prevent it from dripping into the room. O-METALL^® AquaTherm^® anti-condensation fleece is antibacterially treated against fungal attack and also acts as a sound barrier against rain and hail. The light grey colour design of the fleece coating creates an appealingly light interior shell.

TO NOTE

Trapezoidal sheets with O-METALL® AquaTherm® fleece must be stored completely dry
Before mounting, the profiled sheets must be protected in such a way that no moisture can be absorbed by the fleece
For metal coupling purlins, we advise the installation of a thermal break tape
The condensation stop is not suitable for use above damp rooms or where there is constant humidification without ventilation or drying
The gable and ridge area must be protected by flashings such as verge plates and ridge caps
We recommend cranking of the sheets in the ridge and eaves area
The fleece must be deactivated at the building overhangs (e.g. gables and eaves) and at the transverse joints (extension of the watercourse). To do this, it can be scarfed or treated with special varnish

ANTI-CONDENSATION GRANULATE

O-METALL^® Aqua-Therm^® Anti-condensation granulate

In the form of a mineral coating, O-METALL^® Aqua-Therm^® anti-condensation granulate can be applied to all profile types and sheet thicknesses in various layer thicknesses with different absorption capacities. Depending on the layer thickness, a reduction in sound of up to 30% can also be achieved through vibration damping. The anti-condensation granulate is a water-based, mineral-containing coating that gives the inside of the profiled sheet an attractive, plaster-like appearance in a light shade. The coating is resistant to ammonia, carbon dioxide, hydrogen sulphide and chlorine. It is environmentally friendly and harmless to humans and animals. Profiled sheets coated in this way must be handled with special care during installation; they must not be pulled over purlins or other objects.
