O-METALL® light panels are available in polycarbonate (PC), polyester (PL) or fibreglass reinforced polymer (GFK). Among transparent building materials, polycarbonate light panels are characterised by a particularly high impact resistance as well as excellent weather resistance and remain permanently very clear. The homogeneously laminated UV protection layer leads to an excellent UV resistance, they do not yellow and do not become brittle while they achieve a long service life. In addition, heat forming and small cold bending radii are possible. Thanks to the extremely high UV stabilisation optimal plant growth is also not impaired.
Most of the O-METALL® translucent sheets are classified B1, hardly flammable according to DIN 4102. The ignition temperatures, which are at remarkable 450°C, develop few gases in case of fire. As the softening point is below 300°C, O-METALL® light sheets provide additional meltable surfaces for the reduction of smoke and heat ventilation systems in case of fire. Despite the individual requirements for heat extraction in the form of meltable surfaces, forms 2098 and 2221 from the association of damage insurers for project planning can be taken into account. In the spirit of the fire brigades and fire safety officers, it can be assumed that an excellent fire protection class always represents a risk reduction.
