O-METALL Luxembourg celebrates the Luxembourg National holiday on Friday June 23rd 2023. On this day, the birthday of the Grand Duke is celebrated.
Celebrating the birthday of the sovereign has been a tradition in Luxembourg since the 18th century. For climatic reasons, it was decided in 1961 to change the date of the holiday, which is officially called “Groussherzogsgebuertsdag” in Luxembourg, to June 23rd. Since then, the holiday always falls on this day, even if the birthday of the reigning Grand Duke or Grand Duchess falls on another day.
